Description of the event:
The Iasi local sport event organized within the Not Only Fair Play project brought together 116 students, teachers, parents and sports enthusiasts from 8 different education institutions. The event has been organized by Fundatia EuroEd (partner in the project), in collaboration with 7 schools (schools included in the project network) and with USAMV University, Sports Faculty, Iași (associated partner in the project). The event took place on 22nd of June 2015 and was held in the USAMV University Sport Center Iasi.

The main aims of the sport event was to involve students and teachers in demonstrating positive attitudes to social inclusion, equality of opportunity and fair play through sport and to facilitate opportunities for students from different categories to practice sports.

The event included variated sport actions, like football, volleyball, football individual skills, unified gymnastics and badminton. Among the purposes of the event organization was to bring together students from different school levels: primary, middle and high school or from different social level – urban and rural sectors or different health care – including students with special needs. As the event addressed to teachers too, the aim was to bring together educators from all subject areas, creating a spirit of participation, mutual respect and collaboration.

As benchmark in organizing the local sport event, teachers followed the principals promoted by the Toolkit for Physical Education Teacher, especially the ones referring to How to Motivate Students - Building on and benefiting from the generic skills developed through PE and sport; or How to Promote Less Popular Sports - Cooperation with other subject teachers; or Sport as a Mean of Social Inclusion.
