Description of the initiatives:
VET Students’ Sports Year is arranged annually in vocational education. It is coordinated by SAKU ry. During the semester four different sport activities are introduced. The schools will participate to the Sports Year locally and arrange the happening independently with the support of SAKU ry. The aim is to get as large a number of students as possible to test different kind of sport activities. As a result some of the students might get interested about new hobby and gets excited about exercising.
In VET Students’ Sports Year the results and rankings aren’t the main point, more important is the spirit and the joy of movement. It is a package, which is intended to get students to move throughout the year. The instructions and implementation are made as easy as possible to make it easy to organize at physical education classes, dormitory and leisure activities.
The sports year culminates to the SAKUsports happening which is arranged every spring. SAKUsports is also described in the database.
