Description of the initiatives:
Over 180,000 children have been introduced to golf at school with the support of the Active Schools Network and primary schools across the country.
The ClubGolf programme was launched in 2003 to fulfill the Scottish Government’s promise to provide every child in Scotland with an opportunity to experience golf, part of Scotland’s commitment to the game which formed part of the successful bid to host the 2014 Ryder Cup.
To date over 180,000 children have been introduced to golf at school through the introductory games, firstclubgolf, with the support of the Active Schools Network and primary schools across the country.
The ClubGolf initiative takes place in golf clubs and other facilities and offers children a structured programme which supports their early development as golfers. ClubGolf is a partnership between the Scottish Golf Union, Scottish Ladies Golfing Association, Professional Golf Association, Golf Foundation and sportscotland
Campers receive a quality coaching experience and learn loads of new skills. As well as making plenty of new friends, children are welcomed into the facility and introduced to playing on the course.
