Aims:
promotion of an ethical approach to sport
Description of the initiatives:
The event had been organised by Sébastien Caroff and Arnaud Cambronne, both teachers of Lycée Jeanne d’Arc, and by students registered in a sport class of the high school. The planning of this event took place in the grounds of the high school, and also involved young people from the elementary school Jeanne d’Arc (75 pupils).

Our objective was to make the students involved (25) aware of Olympic values, by presenting them Youth Olympic Games, which took place last year in China.

Some Olympic medal winners spoke about their own experience and their view of Olympic Games. In groups of three, they choosed one value or one theme related to Olympic and prepared a recreational and simple workshop, in order to raise young people’s consciousness of fair play, gender equality, fight against doping, Olympic history, nutrition, medias and performance.

During approximately 60 hours, they prepared workshop, which took place on Thursday, 5th, March. During one afternoon, young people of elementary school moved among stands, in order to discover the topics discussed.

This experience allowed students from high school to experiment a different approach of sport, more ethical than traditional Olympiad.
