CASE STUDY

The Context:
I started training rowing five years ago in sports club "Vanto" - Vidin. I first went with my friend, who made me interested in the sport. Most support initially, and until now, I get from my father. Financing of the training and participation in competitions is entirely made by the club.
Sports facilities in my school are good, but it lacks an indoor gymnasium. This somehow hindered students from active sports during the colder months of the year.
I like very much physical education and sports as a subject in school and actively participate in the activities organized by the teacher.
In Bulgaria, young people are not encouraged at all to engage actively in sports.
Balancing Sport and Education:
I train every single day and in summer twice daily for two or three hours. To prepare for school I study around an hour after practice.
My best performance so far was in the National race last summer during the months of May and August. At the State team championship in May 2015 in Plovdiv me team ranked third. At the State individual championship in August 2015, again in Plovdiv I was in third place and got a bronze medal.
My grades at school last year were very good. Sports helped me to be more disciplined. It helped me better organize and appreciate my time. I do not think sport affects my grades in any negative way.
Future Perspectives:
I plan to continue to do sport. Currently I study "Organisation of Tourism and Leisure Time". My future plans are to continue my education in the National Sports Academy. I do not exclude the possibility sport namely to be the activity that will help me find my realization in tourism.
