Objectives of activities carried out:
The Phase 1 foresees by the project partners is "Capitalising of success stories and best practices". It is based on the selection of best practices at transnational level contributing to the promotion of awareness of the importance of sport at school, to the social inclusion at school through sport, to an ethical approach to sport, to a better knowledge of all sports.
The selected best practices will be used as reference and inspiration.

The results of this activity are:
• The creation of a network of teachers and students in the 10 project countries
• The collection of case studies of students who successfully managed to balance their school work with their passion for sport
• The collection of best practices project and initiatives for raising awareness of the importance of sport in upper-secondary schools
Description of activities carried out:
Within the first phase of the project implementation, EuroEd was involved in the following activities until now:
- Organization of internal team meetings to discuss the aims of the Activity 1, understanding the instruments to be used, preparing the strategy to implement the activities and discussions on the target groups to be involved in the project, setting a system of contacting potential schools and teachers.
- Collecting information on the responsibilities on Activity 1 – Capitalizing of success stories and best practices, discussing with the team members and setting the steps in creation of school network in Romania.
- Checking the content of the School involvement forms, and discussions with the team members that for the schools contact we should translate the form into Romanian and that we should prepare an additional document (agreement between EuroEd and schools) requested by each school (as national agreement requested for the schools partnerships).
- Preparing the package for the schools and making contacts (by telephone, emails and direct meetings) with school principals or teachers, presenting and discussing about the project idea and activities and inviting them to be part of the research and development of resources teams.
- Sending invitations to the potential schools principals and teachers presenting the project and inviting them to join the project.
- Monitoring the process of involving teachers in the project and the process of collecting all the official forms for their agreement.
- Permanent collaboration with the schools, approving the agreements and discussing with the school principals and teachers on their roles and activities in which will be involved.
- Archiving the documents sent by the schools, verifying the missing information, reporting them to the contact person and preparing information to be uploaded on the project portal.
- Uploads of the schools data on the project portal
- Presentation and discussions with the teachers on this activity role and impact, setting a basic process of involving students in collecting best practices and initiatives.
- Work on the template P1.E – Best Practice Projects and Initiatives (understanding the requirements, translation into Romanian).
- Meetings and email discussions with the teachers to discuss about the collection of best practices and initiatives, at local/national level.
- Internet research on identifying best practices and initiatives on promotion of sport and physical activities.
- Collecting data and working on filling in the P1.E – Best Practice Projects and Initiatives Template
- Discussions with the teachers to prepare the students in elaboration and collection of the case studies on students who successfully managed to balance their school work with their passion for sport.
- Meetings and email discussions with the teachers to discuss about the collection of Case studies, invitations to promote their students
- Collaboration with the students in developing the case studies
- Work on the template P1.D - Case Studies
- Translations and updates of the Phase 1 activities
- Involvement in promoting the Phase 1 products to the project target groups.
- Review and report of the activities carried out and results obtained within the package of activities.
Outcomes:
- Network of Schools from Romania (7 Schools involved): 1 Primary School, 4 Upper Secondary Schools, 1 lower Secondary School, 1 School for pupils with special needs, 1 Vocational School, 1 Technical School)
- 3 geographical areas reached: Iasi, Vaslui, Barlad
- 7 school principals
- 34 teachers involved (16 physical education teachers, 18 other disciplines teachers)
- 626 students involved
- 251 parents
- 13 best practices
- 5 case studies
Evaluation of the work undertaken:
The activities are carried out smoothly and in line with the milestone foreseen by the project workplan, even if there were encountered some difficulties in respecting the initial deadline to upload the results on the portal because of the inconvenient period (end of school year).
The schools and teachers were very enthusiastic in joining the project and find its aims very actual.
The results obtained have been updated on the project portal
