Description of the initiatives:Olympic Mini Picnic was organized in Działdowo by the Lower Secondary School No. 2 with Bilingual Classes, in cooperation with the Polish Olympic Committee. For the first time the event took place in 2014, on the occasion of giving the school sports hall the name of Polish Olympians.
The participants of the sporting event were students of Działdowo lower secondary schools (age 10-12 years), teachers, parents and special guests - famous Polish athletes. The event created the possibility to integrate all these social groups.
The program included:
- Meeting with Polish Olympians
- Competition and playing sports disciplines, such as football balloon, basketball, badminton, cycling, baseball, jerk, taekwondo, table tennis, beach volleyball, archery, chess, tennis, skipping rope and tournament in a rope tug
- the competition on the Olympic knowledge
- dance and sport shows
In addition, the participants had the opportunity to obtain a certificate confirming the ability to provide the first aid.
The most important message of the event was to promote the Olympic values, the principles of "fair play" rule, not only in sport but also in respect to the others in everyday life, the fight against racism in sport as well as taking care of our own health and fitness.
Besides, the participants of the event had a beautiful idea. The voluntary fundraising was organized to help a sportswoman, former student of Lower Secondary School No. 2 in Działdowo in fighting with the disease.
