The sport event involved 82 children, teachers and parents have been involved in the event. The main aim of the sport event was to promote and encourage the bicycle use from a young age, along with safety, healthy lifestyle, communication, self-esteem, passion.
The sport event held within the Not Only Fair Play project has been organised by Fundatia EuroEd in partnership with ProBikeAddiction for the students of the EuroEd Primary school. 82 children (age 6-11), teachers and parents have been involved in the event.
The main aim of the sport event was to promote and encourage the bicycle use from a young age, along with safety, healthy lifestyle, communication, self-esteem, passion.
The event was structured on age categories and involved workshops based on discussions and interaction with children through visuals and interactive games and practical part of cycling through a circuit adapted. Topics reached during workshops: The benefits of cycling; Types of cycling; Start, stop, control, manoeuvrability; Traffic regulations; Safety; Mechanics - why it works this way; When you know that the bike is in perfect condition and ready for the road; Curiosity type of road bikes that have wheels thinner and thicker the MTB wheels; Maintenance Tips. During the practical activities students have the opportunity be involved in racing and contents, biking through obstacles, learn to use a bike or scooter and the activities involved together students, parents and teachers. In the end of the event all participants received a diploma attesting that they are ready to ride the bike safety.
