Description of the initiatives:
- The organiser of the initiative was Stéphanie Letaief.

- The initiative took place on the Lycée Ozanam ground, or in the arms room in Lille.

- It took place during 4 sessions of 2 hours each.

- This fencing season was only meant for Year 11 students with school issues.
This activity was chosen according to different objectives :
* discover a sport they didn't know,
* learn to be independent (they had to deal with equipment and refereeing alone)

- Fencing is very renown especially thanks to its swordsmen (Dartagnan for example was weapon master in the arms room where the students practiced), its champions and tournaments. The students therefore discovered the history of this activity.
- Fencing appeared to be the perfect activity for those students with difficulties and troubles to deal with effort but also with relations.
- Fencing is a combative sport. The use of a "weapon" means safety rules, such as distance. Through the use of this "weapon", a relation is created between the two fencers both on the psychological and psychomotor levels.
Like in every combative sport, the participant cannot push his limits unless his opponent does so as well. The use of the sword forces the violent or impulsive student to stay calm and then an opposition between intelligence and strengh appears.

- The students learnt many things such as :
* the respect of safety : the students could not be armed if the others did not wear their masks. They also had to be sure the sword was in proper functioning.
* Knowledge, understanding and respect of the rules (this increased the sociability of the students)
* Self-confidence : wearing a mask allows the student to be more confident. His victory depends only on himself.
* Self-control : the students needed to be aware of the actions they had to perform and of the reactions of their opponent. They learnt how to dominate their feelings (impulse, anger, enthousiasme...)
